Shirin Akhter, Chairperson of WDDF and a renowned disability rights activist with a visual impairment. She holds an M.A. in English and is dedicated to promoting the rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities. Through her leadership and vision, she continues to inspire and advance the organization’s vision and mission.
Ashrafun Nahar Misti is a renowned Bangladeshi women’s rights activist, human rights defender, and a leading advocate for the rights of women with disabilities. She is the Founder and Executive Director of the Women with Disabilities Development Foundation (WDDF), established in 2007 to promote the empowerment, leadership, and inclusion of women with disabilities in all areas of life. She began her advocacy in 1994 after obtaining spinal cord injury and having physical disability in 1992. Since then, she has worked to break stigma and social norms, challenge discrimination, and ensure that women with disabilities are visible and included in development, leadership, and decision-making initiatives. She is also fully wheelchair-dependent and has used her personal experience to strengthen her advocacy for accessibility and rights.
1st she started to speak about the systematic barrier against people with disabilities and started to write in newspaper and different media in her student life. After completing Masters in Accounting, she started professional life in NGO. She has seasoned experience in policy advocacy at both national and international levels from the beginning. She has contributed to the inclusion of disability and gender issues in laws, policies, and action plans in Bangladesh through continuous consultation with government bodies and stakeholders. Her activism has also supported improvements in accessibility standards, including making shelter homes and support services more inclusive for women with disabilities. She is actively involved in movement-building against violence toward women and girls with disabilities and works to ensure their access to justice, legal protection, and equal rights. She has also engaged with legal institutions and policy platforms to promote disability-inclusive systems. Academically, she secured first position in her Master’s in Accounting and was later admitted to an MPhil program at the University of Dhaka, which she could not complete due to inaccessibility. She also contributed to early research on credit policy for persons with disabilities.
Her leadership has been recognized globally. She received the “Her Abilities” Global Award (Rights Category) on 3 December 2018, selected from over 1,157 women activists worldwide, in recognition of her long-term impact on disability rights and women’s empowerment. She almost awarded from 17 different organization of Government and Non-government including “Ananya top Ten, success persons with disabilities, Successful Women” etc. She is widely recognized for her commitment to work on equality, accessibility, and dignity, and for advancing the rights of women with disabilities from grassroots activism to policy-level change in Bangladesh and beyond.
Samira Musaddek holds an M.Com in Accounting and is responsible for coordinating and supervising accounting functions across all projects. She oversees and strengthens financial management, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance with policies and regulations, and effective daily operations. Her role includes monitoring financial performance, supporting budgeting, and improving internal management. She also works closely with project teams to ensure proper documentation, smooth financial processes, and efficient resource use, reporting directly to the Executive Director.
Sharmin Akther Dolon holds an Honours degree in English and supports the Program Director in planning and implementing project activities at the head office. She prepares work plans, project designs, reports, and essential documentation, ensuring proper record-keeping and donor reporting. She organizes meetings, workshops, and training sessions, coordinates with branch offices such as Bogura and Comilla, and monitors project progress through field visits. She also compiles activity reports, maintains communication between head office and field teams, and reports to the Executive Director.
Shikha Khatun leads the implementation of the RWVL-B project. She coordinates field teams and manages project activities in compliance with organizational policies, while supervising daily operations. Her work focuses on SRHR, Human Rights, women’s voices in inclusion, women’s empowerment, and community-based development. She holds a Master’s degree in Political Science (Pass Course) and has extensive experience in project cycle management from 2016 to 2025. Since 2009, she has been actively involved in the DPO movement, demonstrating a strong commitment to advancing the rights of persons with disabilities especially women & girls with disabilities. She is skilled in team coordination, monitoring and evaluation, reporting and documentation, and stakeholder communication, and regularly submits timely, need-based reports and relevant documentation to the supervisor.
Nur Nahar Alam holds a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management and works in the Accounts Department. She monitors and coordinates financial management and accounting activities for the RWVL-B project. With prior experience in accounts roles from 2015 to 2022, she ensures accurate financial reporting, maintains compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements, and oversees daily accounting operations at project and branch levels. She also prepares and submits regular financial reports to her supervisor.
Sabia Sultana is responsible for preparing and maintaining daily financial records, including vouchers and ledgers, in compliance with organizational policies. She ensures proper documentation and filing of all financial transactions for audit purposes. She manages banking activities and maintains regular communication with banks for financial transactions and operations. She reports directly to the Accounts Coordinator. She holds a B.B.A. and an M.B.A. in Management from National University.
Mst. Fatema Khatun holds a Master’s in Political Science and provides day-to-day administrative support to ensure smooth operations. Her responsibilities include maintaining records, preparing official documents, organizing meetings and events, managing office supplies, and coordinating logistics. She also supports routine administrative tasks, maintains communication between the head office and field teams, and reports directly to the Executive Director.
Roushon Ara Chowdhury is an Assistant Admin Officer under the RWVL-B project at the Head Office of the Women with Disabilities Development Foundation (WDDF). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition and a Master’s in Population and Gender Studies from a public university. She provides administrative support to ensure smooth office operations, including maintaining records, preparing official documents, organizing meetings and events, and supporting communication for staff and visitors. She also manages office supplies, coordinates logistics, and assists with daily administrative tasks. Previously, she worked as an Upazila Project Coordinator under the VIEW project in Bogura branch, where she conducted awareness sessions on SRHR, mental health, and GBV for women with disabilities and prepared project reports.
Md Abdullah-Al-Faisal is a MEAL Officer at Women with Disabilities Development Foundation (WDDF) and holds an MBA in Accounting. He is responsible for managing at Bogura branch office and strengthening coordination between the head office and branch operations. He oversees field-level activities, maintains relationships with stakeholders, local NGOs, and community leaders, and ensures smooth branch office management and operations. He also manages daily activities, coordinates with the accounts and administration departments, and reports to his supervisors.
Farhana Khatun, Administrative and Accounting Officer at WDDF Branch Office in Bogura. She holds a B.A. degree and has prior experience as an Upazila Coordinator and Administrative Officer. She is responsible for overall branch administration, including maintaining records and register books, and ensuring proper documentation. She has experience in group formation and regularly conducts meetings with women and girls with disabilities in Bogura Sadar, Kahalu, and Sherpur upazilas. She maintains coordination with the stakeholders and non-government organizations to ensure inclusive services. She also keeps track of field activities, supervises upazila-level operations, monitors progress, and reports to senior management and the project coordinator.
Rejuana Ritu, Upazila Coordinator at the Branch Office of Women with Disabilities Development Foundation (WDDF). She coordinates with various NGOs for advocacy and service linkage. Her responsibilities include group formation, organizing regular meetings, and ensuring access to affordable services for women and girls with disabilities in Bogura Sadar, Kahalu, and Sonatala upazilas. She also tracks field staff activities and reports regularly to her supervisor.
Rekha Banu, Logistics Officer at WDDF Bogura Branch Office and previously worked as an Office Assistant. She is responsible for providing overall logistical and administrative support to ensure smooth office operations. Her duties include maintaining office files and records, managing supplies and materials, assisting staff in daily work, and supporting program activities. She also handles guest services, ensures office safety and security, and contributes to the efficient functioning of the branch office.
Masuma AkterVice Chairperson of Women with Disabilities Development Foundation (WDDF) and also serves as Branch Coordinator of WDDF Daudkandi Branch Office. As Branch Coordinator, she oversees daily operations, coordinates programs, supervises staff, maintains communication with the head office, and monitors project implementation. As Vice Chairman, she supports organizational leadership and decision-making, contributes to institutional development, oversees branch performance, and represents WDDF in various forums. Her leadership has significantly contributed to the organization’s growth and effectiveness.
Fatematuz Johora works as a Project Officer at WDDF Daudkandi Branch Office, where she supported women and girls with disabilities through community-level engagement. She organized and conducted grassroots meetings to raise awareness, identify needs, and promote participation in community activities. She directly communicated with participants in an inclusive and respectful manner, helping them understand their rights and available opportunities. She also coordinated with local stakeholders, maintained meeting records, and ensured that the voices of women and girls with disabilities were reflected in development initiatives.
Khadija Akter, Office Assistant at WDDF THAE Project, Daudkandi Branch Office, and Sapna Production Center, where she is also involved in basic accounting support. She organizes and supports regular grassroots meetings with women and persons with disabilities in Barpara, Gauripur, and Sundalpur unions, facilitating discussions and participation. She also assists in daily office tasks, maintains basic records, and performs other assigned duties to support smooth project implementation.
